What does the name Elbi mean?
We’re all about little actions that make a big difference. So, Little, Big. L + B = Elbi!
Is Elbi a charity or a nonprofit?
We are a social enterprise. This means all profits go back into Elbi to help us continue innovating so we can make philanthropy more enjoyable for users and more beneficial for charities.
How do I know the charities are legitimate?
We only work with registered charities vetted through the UK Charity Commission, and the Internal Revenue Service and Charity Navigator in the US.
How much is the app?
The iOS and Android apps are free and available on the App Store and Play Store. You can choose to make micro-donations through the app, but this is optional. Joining in with the daily campaigns costs nothing and still gives you that feelgood feeling. There are no in-app purchases.
Why does the app divert to my browser when donating?
When you tap the Love Button, the page diverts to your browser — this is due to Apple and Google terms and conditions. You are required to input your credit card details — this will be the only time you need to do it.
Is my money safe when it's donated?
Yes, donated money is completely safe and goes directly to the charity, which will always be a registered charity. We're powered by Stripe, as it does not require repeated entering of details. Also its fees are lower. Other companies that use Stripe include Twitter, Wired, Fitbit, Kickstarter, Squarespace and The Guardian.
Does Elbi hold the money?
No, Elbi does not take a penny, nor hold the money in a bank account. All donations go to the charity via Stripe, our payment processing provider. This ensures that all donations are tax deductible.
Can I donate more/less than $1
To begin with, donating via the Love Button will always be worth $1. In the future, there will be more payment options. Keep your eyes peeled!
Am I asked to confirm every time I make a payment?
Yes. When you click the Love Button, we'll ask you to confirm your payment so that no money leaves your account by accident. But you won't have to add card details again.
Why has my donation been declined?
If your payment is declined, it's probably due to your card issuer's security checks. Please contact your card issuer, their contact number should be on the back of your card. Once you've talked to your card issuer, you should be able to donate on Elbi. If this hasn't solved the problem, please contact us and we'll help you.
Is a processing fee taken from my donation?
Yes, there is a minimal donation fee that we managed to negotiate down. On the dollar, only 65 cents goes to the charity, but we negotiated it so 84 cents goes to the charity.
What will you do with my data?
Keeping you safe and secure is a high priority for us. It's stored on secure servers and only kept for as long as it's necessary for the purpose it serves. You agree to this as part of our Terms and Conditions.

Returning Your LoveShop Order
We’re happy to accept returns – just make sure that you do a few things for us:
Send items to us exactly as you received them in a new and unused condition. If the product seal is broken, we will not be able to refund you.
Get them back to us within 28 days of receipt
Include your despatch note or order details as proof of purchase
(Please note this does not affect your statutory rights in respect of damaged or defective products.)
Right to Change Your Mind
You can cancel your LoveShop order by cancelling your contract (order) with us (other than in relation to personalised or other products which we have specified as non-returnable), and receive a refund from us. Your right to cancel and get your money back starts from the date of your confirmation email relating to that order and ends 14 days after delivery.

Damaged Or Defective Products
As a LoveShop customer you have legal rights in relation to products that are faulty or not as described. These rights are not affected by anything else in the Terms of Sale.
You should inspect the product(s) when you receive them for defects or damage. Once received, goods, which are not of satisfactory quality, not as described or which have been damaged, may be returned for a full refund. Simply return the items in their original condition and packaging if possible within 28 days of receipt.
If the Product(s) are found to be damaged prior to delivery to you, or defective (through no fault of your own wearing or use), we will repair or replace the product(s) or refund the price paid by you, provided that you have not worn or used and damaged the product(s).
