2018 “Let’s Talk!” event in Antalya!
The highly anticipated 2018 “Let’s Talk!” event in Antalya, Turkey, at the Maxx Royal Resorts Kemer . This two-day event was the initiative of the host and our co-founder Natalia Vodianova, in partnership with UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency.
The programme brought together some of the brightest minds from industries far and wide, including everything from fashion and sports, to private sector, public policy and government – all with the aim of tackling the taboo around women’s health.
Tackling stigma and taboos!
The aim was to try and do things differently by using the power of talking and conversation as a tool to tackle stigma and taboos. Panels and speakers took to the stage throughout the day on Friday the 26th October 2018 to assess how best to address attitudes towards critical issues such as menstrual, reproductive and mental health.
Adowas’s ‘GURLS Talk‘ came to Antalya too…
Panels looked into the role of governments and civil societies, media, private sector and the sports industry as well as a takeover by British activist and model Adwoa Aboah, who brought her highly influential forum ‘GURLS Talk’ to Antalya.
Emine Erdogan delivered a speech as the guest of honour
The event was then capped with an awards ceremony and sit down meal, whereby the First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan delivered a speech as the guest of honour. The awards commemorated individuals making key strides in the way of raising awareness of women’s health around the world.
